This is my Palm Deer. Made from pieces of palm trees and a coconut outer shell.
I selected a 1x6x14 board that was laying around the shop. Using glue and some drywall screws I started mounting with the top antlers first.
I used three sets of palm fronds ends for antlers and a quarter of a piece of coconut fiber that I found at the park for the face. I cut the end of the coconut fiber that comes to a point to glue back on as a nose.
Selecting the eyes, at first I thought of these brass things that go behind a dresser knob.
Then I thought of these wooden knobs off of a bifold door. I ended up cutting off some of the back part of the knob and a little glue and two drywall screws becomes my eyes
Trying to decide if I want to paint the nose red or not. I will hang it up for awhile, time will tell.

Curb shopping pays off.
I found this driving around. This was sitting on the side of the curb. This table has been sitting out in the weather for quite awhile.
The hinge on one side of the table is bent and it won't come up straight.
Sanded down with 80 grit and then 180 grit. Touched it up with some teak oil and golden oak. Clear polyurethane on the top with a sponge. This beauty is now a working table in my workshop.

Painting bowling balls
Painting Bowling balls can be quite fun, finding them can be half of the fun. When bowling falls out of favor the balls end up at the garage sale or on the side of the road. They make great craft projects.
I sand them with a scotch bright to get the wax and oils on them. Spray pain the base coat and then lightly sand where the paint for the markings will go.
The markings are painted with "one shot" lettering paint. and then spray painted with a clear coat.
Copper wire makes the shape of the wings and an aluminum screen makes the wings the thumb hole is plugged with silicone and the copper wire for the antenna, each wing is in a finger hole with silicone.
A simple carved face with a dremel tool. Is easy and no sanding required. Wax with a crayon in the carving. Clear Coat with clear spray paint.
