Turning frames into a Garden Gate.

These are heavy frames that once held mirrors.

Given to my by one of my friends, They have been sitting in her yard for a few years.

Gathering a few odds and ends from around the yard and shed.

These angels where given to me by my Mom about 25 years ago and have been sitting in the yard all these years.

Putting it all together with pieces form a metal plant stand.

finishing the Herb Garden gate.

All put together and hung on sign post that were being replaced at my work.

They go together like peas and carrots.
Lightly painted with a distressed look I will clear coat them later.

Hung with hinges for a chain link fence they open and close but I like them standing open like this in an inviting way. They are very sweet.

Petal Peeps a smile a minuite.

Using a tooth pick and a label they make great little message givers.

Hanging from a curtain, rearview mirror or as a computer companion these little people are sure to make you smile.
A string of Petal Peeps dancing at the craft show.
The display of Petal Peeps on a tomato cage with a lazy susan kept everyone busy looking for their favorite to take home with them.

A Holiday Wreath can be a fun place to diaplay Petal Peeps.

An Fall wreath can add the color of the season to your front door and give that warm cozy feeling to all who enter your home.

And what better way to add a smile than to adorn your wreath with a couple of Petal Peeps. I love making these little Peeps and they always add a smile to the day.

Santa Elves are on the way to get to work.

After cutting fabric, sewing, turning, stuffing and sewing all of the body parts together you have the beginnings of and Elf.

Pure fun in everyway these little guys put a smile on your face.

Spreading cheer through the art room each one has its own personality and no two are alike.
My first Elf couple. Don't they look sweet together? Thanks Lizzy for pushing me into the couples.

Reindeer from start to finish

After the fabric has been cut, sewed, turned and stuffed.
You have a cute little naked Reindeer.

Here they are dressed and ready to go to the party.
A little more country with this woven fabric and lace.
Dressed up in Green Velvet this little deer will be the bell of the ball.

Last but not least my first deer couple. He is sporting a tie and has a fishing fly tucked up in his antlers. While she is keeping an eye on his hand that is touching hers. wonder what is in that box on his lap????

Wearable Art

On the back of Dominoes. Art from paper and pen and ink from my own hand makes these unique.
I love doing them and there are around 50 of them.

I also use other game pieces. I guess it is the kid in me who never wants to give up the games.

Witch Two

Witch too, she is waiting for trick or treat. Waiting under a tree she has picked up a red maple leaf.
A few leaves have also landed on the brim of her hat.

Witches on street.

Witch One, she has a spider in one hand and candy corn for her to eat in the other. How sweet is that. Oh look she dropped one of the candies.

Oh Deer, I mean Reindeer

Pretty in  pink. Here she is celebrating the season in Pink.

For ever in blue jeans. Well forever in denim.

GO WITH NATURAL PEST CONTROL.

I LOOK FORWARD TO THE GREEN THUMB FEST. EVERY YEAR.

I believe pest control is better done by professionals so I go to "green thumb" to enlist the help of Lady Bugs.

II
Praying Mantis is another professional that work for me in my yard. You can hang the egg and let them hatch but it is much more fun to put it in a paper sack and watch for them. They are so cute and will crawl up your arms and onto the plants.

Best thing ever for citrus and the oranges are all the better for it.

What to do with all of that Basil we grew.

Well I put on many ways and Ideas of how to grow Basil. So now what to do with all of that Basil? Here is a great Idea.
You can de-hydrate it and crush it to put into nice glass containers for gifts but here is another idea.

BASIL SALT

1. wash and dry basil.
2. cut leaves into small pieces and stems.
3. add 1/2- 3/4 Cup Kosher or Sea Salt to your food processor and about 1 Cup of packed fresh basil.
4. pulse and stir. Keep a little coarse.
5. once desired consistency, pour the salt mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment.
6. Bake at 275 degrees for 30-40 min. to remove moisture.
7.  Let cool and then put into glass jars. keep cool and dry.
