An on going project.

My eating program is an on going project. In these times money can be tight and produce in the stores are way over priced. I am not going to undo the changes I have made in my eating. I have lost 60 lbs so far this year by giving up processed foods and eating closer to nature. So I have my old lady shopping cart. You know the ones with the big wheels in the back, well mine is the deluxe version. I load my emergency flea market bag, equipped with rain poncho, first aid kit and water bottle, and off I go. It doesn't take long because after the first 3 weeks I have found the produce stands that I go to. So it takes me about 30-40 min. and the savings are huge. What you are looking at in the picture is:
10 plumbs, 8 peaches, 4 Big apples, 1 seedless watermelon,
10 bananas, large stand of baby asparagus, 4 ripe tomatoes,
a head of cauliflower, head of cabbage, head of broccoli, 5 cucumbers,
2 lbs of Green beans, head of Chinese cabbage, 8 sweet potatoes, 6 banana peppers
total cost? 20.00
result? healthy living and weight loss. Cooking required, but if you prep and bag things it all goes quickly. Loving and living my life.

back yard fun

Adding carpet on old deck. It keeps from being slippery and people with bare feet on wood.

This is a hott part of the job. the glue is drying almost before the carpet can be pulled over it.

Screen room added to keep out the bugs that bite. Also it keeps off sun in the noontime.

Hot tub eye sore

A friend had this hot tub sitting on its side in the side yard at their house. It did not run but the tub was in good shape.

Back at the house the Dog and I take out the motor and install an old sprinkler motor that has been sitting on the deck for at least 15 years

All pluged in and fired up. I am not LOL

hot tub project

Put in a sub floor on the exsisting deck to hold the hottub/

Painted and ready for the tub.

Once the tub is in place the fun begins.

It's all behind the door.

When you have custom jewelry or you start making lots of earrings where can you put them all? I found this towel rack hanging around. Put some burlap on the back of the door and then the rack. It gives you plenty of room to add some jewelry wire so you can have your pendent or bracelet hang next to your earrings. We don't have any expensive jewelry so there is no need to lock it up. This is just simple and fun. If you add a piece of felt you can also put studs on the door. Pins hook into the burlap.

Oh no! I got paint on my shorts.

So you got paint on your clothing? Ya well it happens to me all of the time. I don't always change into my "play" clothes when the creative spirit grabs me, then it happens I brush up against wet paint or drip it on me.
Just go get some fabric paint. it is cheap and once you buy a few of your favorite colors they will last for a very long time. I also have a marker that can add some fine details.

Dubbed the EMSTER by my family, I embrace the name and put it in lights on the back of my favorite painting shirt. This one came from a thrift store when I was painting at church. OH yess a childhood dream. Painting a mural in my church clothes. I could hear my Gram in the back of my mind "don't you get paint on your good clothes" LOL

button button where is the button

This is a simple little thing that you can do with the kids and can be used for anything.
all you need is a flower pot and saucer that is used under the flower pot. something for a handle like a wooden ball and lamp shade. this is the type of lamp shade that goes on a ceiling light and is held on with 3 screws.

You can paint the flower pot in any way you like. Hot glue the light shade on the bottom of the flower pot open side up so you can put things inside. then use the saucer like a lid. I am following my Grandmothers leed with saving my buttons. If I am going to throw out a worn shirt or cut it up for rags I take off all of the buttons and store them. It is fun and brings me memories of my Gram.

wine bottle gifts

This makes a really nice light on a table for dinner or just to make a fun unusual light
this is a project that takes almost no time at all. You need a set of battery powered lights. The ones in this bottle are the little white lights. inside the bottle with the lights is a foil Easter grass. the foil kind will reflect the lights. the wire and the battery box come out of the top, the cork goes in and topped with a little raffia and some fake grapes. The grapes hide the battery box.
It is hard to show the lights in the bottle but they are really nice.
